Ag Resource Council quiz show highlights the Red Gold stage this year at the 2008 Indiana State Fair

Indianapolis – Do you enjoy Wheel of Fortune®, or Jeopardy®? What about The Price is Right®? The Indiana Agriculture Resource Council (IARC) launches its exciting game show next week with the third season of the Ag Resource Council Quiz Show at the 2008 Indiana State Fair.

The Red Gold Stage in the Pioneer Our Land Pavilion is the place to be at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 7, 9, 10, 13, 15 and 16. Participants will be selected to play the game on stage, while the audience also has a chance to play along and win prizes as well. Questions are centered around Indiana agriculture, and are designed for education, information and fun. Each player walks away a winner and with better knowledge about the state's agricultural industry.

The 2008 Indiana State Fair kicks off on Wednesday, August 6. It features the Year of Trees as a showcase of education, youth and agriculture. The IARC is proud to be part of the fair once again. The Council is a partnership of agricultural, commodity organizations and state and federal agencies. Its mission is to unify, interpret and promote educational resources and events that may engage the general public in contemporary-based agricultural learning.

New officers lead the Indiana Agriculture Resource Council

Indianapolis – With farmers in the field and the beginning of another growing season, the Indiana Agriculture Resource Council (IARC) also launches a new season.

Four individuals from the 20-organization Council will lead the organization this year. Justin Armstrong, Barn Director for the Indiana State Fair Commission, is the new IARC chair. Joining Armstrong on the 2008 leadership team are: Vice Chair Danica Kirkpatrick, Purdue College of Agriculture; Secretary Sarah Ford, Indiana Pork Producers Association; and Treasurer Mindy Reef, Indiana Farm Bureau Inc.

The IARC is a partnership of agricultural, commodity organizations and state and federal agencies. Its mission is to unify, interpret and promote educational resources and events that may engage the general public in contemporary-based agricultural learning.

The IARC’s main projects over the 10 years have focused on educational programs for Indiana school children and the general public. This includes the:
