About IARC
The Indiana Agriculture Resource Council (IARC) is a partnership of agricultural, commodity organizations and state and federal agencies. IARC’s mission is to unify, interpret and promote educational resources and events that may engage the general public in contemporary based agricultural learning.

Accomplishments
Since the group’s formation in 1998, the Council has:

• Developed a mission statement, goals and strategic plan;
• Conducted statehouse events for state legislators during National Agriculture Week to promote Hoosier agriculture to members of the Indiana General Assembly.
• Created an educational program for Indiana school children and the general public centered around the theme Indiana’s AG EXTRAVAGANZA. This includes:
  1. Developed the Indiana Agricultural Literacy Curriculum CD that includes 40 lesson plans organized into eight major units. Each lesson is matched with an Indiana Academic Standard appropriate for the fourth-grade level. Click here for more info.
  2. Created the IARC Web site www.indag.org
  3. Developed the Farmers Care Displays distributed to all 92 counties to educate the public about animal care practices. These displays are available to use at county fairs and other public events. Contact your county Extension office to reserve a Farmers Care Display or the IARC

• Promotes the benefits and positive aspects of agriculture based on facts and science.
• Promotes education via an initiative focusing on the importance of agriculture.
• Shares resources and services for consumer education.
• Facilitates the public's understanding of the link between quality agriculture products and a healthy environment.
• Creates opportunities for agriculture awareness.
